This old guitar
has picked me up -
whenever I’ve been blue -
And tells the stories of my heart
if I should play for you.

Music, family and faith are the cornerstones of my life The songs I have written help to tell that story.

Nancy was born in the beautiful village of Sag Harbor, New York. (Here by the Sea). Her father was a fisherman (Time to Go Fishing) and her mother was a nurse. She grew up with a big family in a small house that sat beside a salt marsh.

Nancy and her best friend Joyce (Very Best Friends) spent their days exploring the woods and paddling around the creeks and bays. When they were fourteen they decided to teach themselves how to play the guitar (This Old Guitar) and they’ve been making music ever since.

Nancy studied Music Therapy in college and went off to do her internship in South Carolina. She loved the warmth of the south but soon found herself back in Sag Harbor (Sag Harbor) studying for her Master’s Degree and teaching music in a local Catholic School. Soon after she was hired by her home district as a full time teacher and has taught there for 31 years!

Nancy taught kindergarten, second grade, fifth grade, general music, guitar, resource room and early intervention. She helped to create Morning Program, a groundbreaking program in which students, teachers, staff and parents meet each day to start their day together, share and celebrate life. (Hey Good Morning). Nancy led the school in song for over 25 years. She saw music bring the school family together through storms, tragedies, joys and celebrations.

Nancy also completed Pastoral Formation in the Diocese of Rockville Center and later was ordained as an Interfaith Minister through One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in Manhattan, NY. Since that time Nancy has been a guest speaker and song-leader at various houses of worship in her area. She also officiates at life’s celebrations-weddings, baby blessings, funerals, memorials and special blessings.

Nancy has been married to her husband Tom for twenty-five years (Still). They have one amazing daughter Siena (Siena’s Song) who loves to travel the world.

Being in nature is where Nancy feels most at home. She enjoys all of the seasons and can never pick an absolute favorite (What’s Your Favorite Season?). She loves spending time outdoors in her garden (In My Garden) and planting a rainbow of colored flowers. She also loves to spend time at the beach and in the woods and loves all the creatures in her earth family (Wildlife Family). She has two adorable dogs, Sneakers and Bear, (I Got a Puppy) who keep all the family laughing.

Grateful for her family and friends (Call Me Your Friend), her beautiful hometown and all the wonders of life, Nancy keeps an (Attitude of Gratitude) in her heart.

Music is and will always be a central force in Nancy’s life. She loves the way music brings joy to people of all ages, how it helps us all celebrate life, and how it brings people together. Whether she sings for groups of children, at a concert, in church, at a bonfire on the beach, or at a family gathering, Nancy’s love of music and life shines through her songs and her heart.
