Simply Said by Nancy Remkus

Welcome! Thank you for stopping by. My new website provides me with a blog stop, a place to share my thoughts with those who would like to journey together. The word welcome comes from the Old English ‘wilcuma’, a noun meaning “a desired guest”. So welcome desired guests to a short resting place in your week.

I have decided to title my blog - “Simply Said” because I am a great believer in the gift of simplicity—simplicity in living, thinking, writing. Simplicity provides us with a place to grow -untethered to the complications and clutter life offers. We pare down, we create space, we live and breathe the things in life that bring us joy. Simplicity is a place where we recognize that less is more and more can be way too much.

Simplicity can be a spiritual path as well—each of the wisdom traditions remark on simplicity. Here are just a few…..

“Simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.” - Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

“A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life.” - Proverbs 13:17

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” - Confucious, 551 BCE.

“To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one's own in the midst of abundance.” - Buddha, 563 BCE.

In my new blog- “Simply Said” I will ponder the world around me and simply said I hope that you’ll come along.
